Coaching Workshop – Sunday 25th July
Have you considered assisting your club to deliver surf sports programs to your members?
Last year, Juppy from Surf Life Saving Tasmania ran a series of highly enjoyable, successful (and efficient!) workshops which enabled us to meet our obligations in relation to Surf Sports Officials and Nipper Age Managers.
Back again this year by popular demand, Juppy has kindly offered to facilitate an afternoon of coaching focussed courses, aimed at covering the pre-requisites and theory for the SLS Foundation Coach and Development Coach awards. The workshop will run from 2-4:30pm on Sunday 25th July at Port Sorell SLSC.
If you’re interested in exploring the SLS coaching awards, particularly if you’re available on the 25th, please complete the form below to express your interest, by COB on Thursday 22nd July please.

SLS Coaching Awards
The SLS Coaching Awards provide coaches with the knowledge and skills to effectively plan and deliver discipline specific coaching sessions with a particular focus on skill development.
There are three levels of SLS Coaching awards, which are aimed at coaches delivering training and coaching sessions in a club surf sport environment (recreationally or competitively).
Details of the three awards can be found by clicking the links above.
The awards are relevant to anybody with an interest in delivering (or assisting to deliver) surf sports coaching sessions, and are particularly useful for those coaching our senior or masters competitors, or as a supplement to Age Managers responsible for our older juniors.
Prerequisites
There are no SLS award prerequisites to complete the SLS Coaching awards, however, coaches who are deliver water-based disciplines are required to have held or currently hold a Bronze Medallion.
All coaches are required to hold a current Working with Vulnerable People registration.
