The Port Sorell Surf Live Saving Club is one of 22 surf live saving clubs in Tasmania that provide educational and emergency rescue services to the community. We were thrilled to be named the “Premier Surf Club of Tasmania” in 2018.
We are a volunteer community service that relies solely on community donations, fundraising and corporate sponsorship to achieve our objective of providing safe beaches, through our regular summer beach patrols and training programs.
We have a strong focus on educating children about surf awareness, developing their fitness and fostering them to eventually become our next generation of surf livesavers.
The club organises a number of major community events over the year, including our Market by the Beach, Eats at the Beach, and the Penguin Island Swim.
Our club is open to the whole community, and serves as a social hub, as well as its surf sports and life saving functions.
We encourage everybody to join us, and support us in achieving our vision of “bringing the community to the beach”.
