Unfortunately, due to the current concerns around the management of COVID-19, particularly in relation to vulnerable members of the community, Devonport Surf Life Saving Club has taken the decision to cancel the event on 20 March 2020.

Thank you to all those Port Sorell SLSC member that volunteers to assist in the event.  It is likely that the event will be held in December of this year, so please keep an ear out for more news.

Our fellow volunteers at neighbouring Devonport surf club are running a Starfish Nippers Day on 20 March 2020.

This extraordinary program aims to provide children and young adults with a disability with beach safety and water awareness skills.

The program is available to children aged 6 years and above and supports the aim of inclusiveness on our beaches and within our surf live saving clubs. The program caters for students with numerous disabilities including Autism, Asperger’s and Down Syndrome.

Devonport SLSC needs assistance to run this important program and has asked if we are able to provide them with BM/SRC qualified members to help meet their 1:1 water safety ratio requirement.

If you can help, please contact Neil Hargreaves with your availability.
